不思議な形の花、トケイソウに出会って Encountering the Mysterious Passion Flower

この日、ふと足元に目をやると、見たことのない不思議な形の花が咲いていました。

That day, when I happened to glance down, I noticed a mysterious flower I had never seen before.

まるで時計の文字盤のような模様。だからこの花の名前は「トケイソウ」。

Its pattern looked just like the face of a clock—hence the name "Tokeisō" in Japanese, or "passion flower" in English.

実はこの花、果実は「パッションフルーツ」としても知られています。

In fact, the fruit of this flower is what we know as "passion fruit."

Though it looks like a tropical plant, it's actually easy to grow in Japan and is popular for its ornamental value.
