夕暮れどき、本来なら観光客や地元の人々で賑わっているはずの通りは、人影もまばらで、静寂があたりを包んでいました。
At dusk, the streets that would normally be bustling with tourists and locals were nearly deserted, wrapped in silence.
ネオンの灯りはいつも通りに街を照らしているのに、そこにあるのは静けさと、わずかな不安。
The neon signs still lit up the streets as usual, but what lingered was a quiet stillness and a hint of unease.
開いている店はまばらで、シャッターが下りたままの店舗も目立ちます。
Only a few stores were open, while many remained closed with shutters down.
それでも、遠くに見えるビルの明かりや、歩く人々の姿には、どこか前向きな力を感じました。
Even so, the lights of the distant buildings and the few people walking gave off a quiet sense of resilience.
「またこの街に活気が戻る日が来る」
"A day will come when this town regains its liveliness again."
そんな希望を信じて、店主たちは、そして私たちも、静かに日々を乗り越えていたのだと思います。
Believing in that hope, shop owners and all of us endured each day in quiet perseverance.
今では少しずつ日常が戻りつつあり、街にも活気が戻ってきました。
Now, little by little, everyday life is returning, and the city is regaining its energy.
けれど、この静かな中華街の風景は、私にとって大切な"あの時代"の記憶として、心に残り続けるでしょう。
Yet, this quiet scene of Chinatown will remain in my heart as a precious memory of "those times."
