とある牧場で出会った、ちょっと意外な風景。
An unexpected scene I encountered at a certain farm.
目に入ってきたのは、なんと屋根の上を器用に歩くヤギたちの姿でした。
What caught my eye were goats skillfully walking on the roof.
動物たちの世界にも、「高い場所が好き」な子がいるのでしょうか？
Do animals also have those who prefer high places?
このヤギたちは特別に作られた通路を、まるで日常の散歩道のように歩いていました。
These goats were strolling along a specially built path as if it were their everyday walkway.
下から見上げると、その姿はどこか誇らしげで、堂々としていて……
Looking up at them from below, they seemed proud and dignified...
なんだか人間にも通じるものを感じてしまいました。
I couldn't help but feel something very human in their demeanor.
足場は決して広くはありませんが、彼らは迷うことなく、軽やかに進んでいきます。
The path wasn't wide, but they moved forward gracefully and without hesitation.
見ているこちらがハラハラする場面もありますが、きっと彼らにとっては慣れたコース。
There were moments that made me nervous, but for them, this route must be familiar.
タグのついた首輪もどこか誇り高く見えて、
Even their name tags on the collars seemed to add to their pride.
まるで「私たちがこの牧場の主役よ」とでも言っているようでした。
It was as if they were saying, "We're the stars of this farm."

ふだん私たちは、動物たちを「見下ろす」ことが多いかもしれません。
Usually, we tend to look down on animals from above.
でも、こうしてヤギたちが高い場所からこちらを見下ろすと、
But when goats look down at us from above like this,
まるで世界の構図がひっくり返ったような感覚になります。
It feels like the world has turned upside down.
下から眺める彼らの姿には、「上を目指す強さ」や「自由を楽しむ心」が感じられ、
Looking up at them, I sensed their strength to reach higher and their joy in freedom.
ちょっと勇気をもらえた気がしました。
It gave me a little courage, somehow.
