居眠りの野良猫 The Sleeping Stray Cat

春の午後、公園のベンチの隅で一匹の野良猫が気持ちよさそうに眠っていた。 On a spring afternoon, a stray cat was sleeping comfortably in the corner of a park bench.

暖かな日差しが毛並みに降り注ぎ、わずかに揺れる尻尾が心地よさを物語っている。 The warm sunlight bathed its fur, and its gently swaying tail hinted at its comfort.

時折、耳をピクリと動かしながらも、目を開ける気配はない。 Occasionally, its ears twitched, but there was no sign of it opening its eyes.

猫は自由気ままな生き物だ。 Cats are creatures of freedom and independence.

けれど、野良猫の暮らしは決して楽なものではない。 However, the life of a stray cat is far from easy.

雨風をしのぎ、食べ物を探し、時には危険を避けなければならない。 They must endure rain and wind, search for food, and sometimes avoid danger.

そんな厳しい日々の中で、こうして無防備に眠る姿を見ると、つい「今、この瞬間だけでも穏やかであってほしい」と願わずにはいられない。 Seeing them sleep so defenselessly despite such hardships makes me wish for their peace, even if only in this moment.

近くのベンチでは老夫婦が仲良くおしゃべりをし、子どもたちが元気よく遊んでいる。 Nearby, an elderly couple chatted happily, and children played energetically.

人々の賑やかな声が響くなか、それをよそに野良猫は静かに夢の中。 Amidst the lively sounds of people, the stray cat remained peacefully in its dreams.

彼にとって、ここは安心できる場所なのだろう。 For the cat, this place must feel safe.

やがて、そっと目を開けた猫は大きく伸びをして、のんびりと歩き出した。 Eventually, the cat slowly opened its eyes, stretched grandly, and began to walk leisurely.

その姿はどこか誇らしげで、まるで「さて、次はどこへ行こうか」とでも言いたげだった。 Its posture looked somewhat proud, as if saying, "Now, where shall I go next?"

次にこの猫を見かけるのはいつになるだろうか。 I wonder when I will see this cat again.
