高みを目指すトンボの姿 The Dragonfly Aiming High

一本の枝の先にとまる一匹のトンボ。透き通るような翅を広げ、微かな風を感じながら、次なる飛翔の瞬間を待っている。 A dragonfly perched on the tip of a branch, spreading its translucent wings, feeling the faint breeze, and waiting for the next moment of flight.

この写真を撮ったとき、私はふと「このトンボは何を思ってここにいるのだろう」と考えた。ただ休んでいるのか、それとも次なる目的地を見定めているのか。高い場所にとまるトンボの姿は、まるで新たなステージへ進もうとする人の姿と重なるように感じた。 When I took this photo, I wondered, "What is this dragonfly thinking as it rests here?" Is it merely pausing, or is it looking for its next destination? Its presence in a high place resembles that of a person preparing to step into a new stage of life.

トンボは「勝ち虫」

The Dragonfly as a "Victory Insect"

日本では、トンボは「勝ち虫」とも呼ばれ、縁起の良い生き物とされてきた。前へ前へと進み、決して後退しないその飛び方が、戦国武将たちにも好まれたという。昔の武士たちは、兜や鎧にトンボの模様をあしらい、勝利を願った。 In Japan, dragonflies are also called "kachi-mushi" or "victory insects," and they have long been considered lucky creatures. Their forward-moving flight, never retreating, made them favored by samurai warriors. Ancient warriors adorned their helmets and armor with dragonfly motifs, hoping for victory.

このトンボもまた、次なる飛翔に向けて力を蓄えているのかもしれない。風を読み、翅を整え、そして決意の瞬間に羽ばたく。その姿は、私たちが新たな挑戦に踏み出す瞬間とよく似ている。 This dragonfly, too, may be gathering its strength for its next flight. It reads the wind, prepares its wings, and at the moment of decision, it takes off. This is much like the moment we step forward into a new challenge.

目標に向かうために

Moving Toward a Goal

トンボはただ闇雲に飛ぶわけではない。狩りをするにも、縄張りを守るにも、風を読み、効率よく飛ぶ術を心得ている。そして、時には高い場所にとまり、周囲を見渡しながら、次の行動を決める。 A dragonfly does not fly aimlessly. Whether hunting or defending its territory, it reads the wind and flies efficiently. Sometimes, it perches at a high place, scanning the surroundings before deciding on its next move.

私たち人間も同じだ。目標を持ち、それに向かって努力することは大切だが、時には立ち止まって周囲を見渡すことも必要だ。焦るばかりではなく、冷静に状況を判断し、次の一歩を見極める。それが、高みへと飛び立つための準備となる。 We humans are the same. Having goals and working toward them is important, but sometimes, we need to pause and observe our surroundings. Rushing forward isn't always the answer; assessing the situation calmly helps us take the right next step. That is the preparation needed to soar higher.

新たな一歩を踏み出そう

Take the Next Step Forward

このトンボのように、私たちも今いる場所から飛び立つ勇気を持ちたい。高い場所にとまって、しっかりと前を見つめる。そして、風を感じ、時が来たら力強く羽ばたく。 Like this dragonfly, we too should have the courage to take flight from where we stand. Perch high, gaze forward, feel the wind, and when the time comes, soar boldly.

どんなに小さな一歩でも、それは未来へ続く大切な一歩だ。トンボのように、前へ前へと進んでいこう。 No matter how small, every step forward leads us toward the future. Like the dragonfly, let us keep moving forward.
